Sarah Spencer is a composer and sound designer working across theatre, film, television, radio, and installation, originally from Manchester. She studied music at Oxford University, where she began writing for theatre and specialised in composition and audio engineering. She is currently based in London, and frequently collaborates with artists in Berlin, where she previously lived and worked. Sarah composes across a wide range of genres, with a particular focus on electronic and contemporary classical scores, shaped by her background as a jazz musician. She is Associate Composer of the multi-award-winning theatre company Theatre Goose. At the heart of her practice is storytelling - creating distinctive sonic worlds that shape the narrative and emotional life of each work. She also performs as a pianist, harpist, burlesque performer, and drag artist.
